Clinical Data To Sell Vital Scientific For $15M

Clinical Data Inc. (CLDA) agreed to sell Vital Scientific B.V. to ELITech Group, Puteaux, France, for $15 million.

In addition, Clinical Data will retain about $4.5 million in cash from Vital Scientific immediately prior to the sale.

Vital Scientific is a Netherlands-based in vitro diagnostics, or IVD, business.

Clinical Data, a Newton, Mass., biotechnology company, said it has been implmenting a plan for the past year to divest its IVD component to devote all of its resources to its IP-driven pharmacogenomics tests and targeted therapeutics, as well as its genomics services division.

ELITech is an independent distributor of in-vitro diagnostic products in France.
